Hike and Wildlife Observation
Guests report that within a few days at Kasiiya, their senses are attuned to the tropical dry forest of Guanacaste. This slice of paradise is a refuge for animals during the long dry months, a refreshing oasis of blue and green.
The day begins at about nine in the morning driving though villages of the descendants of the Chorotega tribe. Withinn two and a half hours, we reach the entrance of the Sensoria Nature Reserve. From here our private guide leads us along a hiking trail, trekking through pristine, ancient forests with our eyes peeled for the elusive tapir.
Under the lush endemic orchids and centennial trees, we enjoy a delicious mid-morning snack prepared by our chef. We reach the blue waterfalls of Sensoria and behold the natural thermal springs, where a warm and curative dip is highly recommended. On the journey back we are given the choice of prolonging the adventure with a tour of the nearest village to enjoy fresh tropical fruits or returning to the blissful comforts of Kasiiya.
